I’ve learned from the world to never give up. In 2017, I began playing professionally with a different game called Bren Esports. My childhood aspiration of being a professional footballer was realized. As coach of Sunsparks, he experienced winning an MPL championship. It’s a feeling I’ve always wanted to experience again; how can I not forget? I experienced all the highs and lows while walking with them from Sunsparks to AURA and ECHO. We shared joys and sorrows. They are my home and my family. But after five years in the Philippine esports scene, I felt it was time to take a risk and explore new ground.
When Echo’s Season 10 roster was completed, RRQ approached him about coaching. At first, I hesitated to accept their offer. As the son of a Filipino migrant worker who traveled to work overseas, he made sacrifices for his loved ones back home. I appreciate people who persevere and conquer obstacles. I recall grieving every time my father departed for work abroad. When I became an adult, I wondered why they made such sacrifices. I’ve come to realize how difficult it is.
But then RRQ made an offer that was impossible to turn down, like a huge opportunity. So I put my misgivings aside and headed out for Indo, full of enthusiasm. The S10 travel isn’t bad, but the M4 results are mixed. I truly wanted to win RRQ’s first international title. On the other hand, my old team Echo won the championship, which makes me delighted for them. A coach considers his players to be immortal blood brothers. I am no longer their coach, but I am delighted to watch them prosper. However, I am disappointed to lose to the team that brought these individuals together prior to my departure. It’s time to question myself.
Is this the correct decision? Did you arrive from the Philippines? If I hadn’t come out, I’d already be the M4 champion, right? Am I the only one being ineffective…? This type of gibberish began to enter my mind on a regular basis. The M4 Grand Final was also held on my birthday. On my birthday, I had to close the door to my room alone, dissatisfied with my team’s loss.
S11 was one of the worst seasons of my coaching career, and we had to leave early due to the difficult circumstances. After splitting up with RRQ, I found myself at a crossroads. Are you planning to leave Esports and pursue a regular income? I’m not young anymore, and as a human being, my obligations have grown, right? As someone with chronic kidney disease (I only learned about it in 2014 and will write about it later), I am frequently concerned about the Esports world, where there is no consistent income.
Before entering the esports sector, I worked in an IT-related field. So I thought it was time to return to my previous field. When SRG offered me the role as head coach, I was still considering accepting a job here. I was hesitant because of what I had seen in my previous abroad coaching job. In my last RRQ coach life, both as a human being and as a coach, I had doubts about my abilities. But after a month with SRG, they were able to maintain me in the Esports realm.
The first season with SRG was about completing everything I could in a short period of time. It wasn’t ideal, but we learned a lot and can improve. The second season was a big preparation period, with only one of the five players from the previous season remaining. Doubts surround the new roster this season. Those who ask why these players were chosen are equally mistaken. But this team spent everything they had and wanted to prove it. They were eventually able to record it, as they said.
As an impartial coach, I believe my team is excellent and have complete faith in them. But I didn’t believe we could win all of the trophies in one season. became the MPL champion; in addition to winning the MSC x Esports World Cup, remaining unbeaten for over 100 days is simply extraordinary. I believe our best time will last for at least two seasons. However, if you have complete faith in your teammates and work hard together, you will undoubtedly achieve your goals. Nothing can prevent it.
I don’t think I would have gotten this far without overcoming my doubts. Overcoming these hurdles helped Arcadia become what it is today. I truly thank everyone who has supported me from the beginning to the present. It truly comes from the heart. Life is constantly compelled to confront ups and downs. If we do not give up and pursue our aspirations, the limitless cosmos will rebuild everything in its proper sequence.
